NEWS FROM THE RECEPTIONIST

THE RECEPTIONIST
PLAYWRIGHT ADAM BOCK &
ACTRESS JAYNE HOUDYSHELL
FEATURED THIS WEEKEND ON
NY1’S “ON STAGE”

THE RECEPTIONIST playwright Adam Bock and actress Jayne Houdyshell, who plays the title role, will be featured guests on this weekend’s edition of NY1’s “On Stage.”

Bock & Houdyshell sat down with NY1 correspondent Patrick Pacheco to talk about the critically acclaimed world premiere production of THE RECEPTIONIST which is currently playing at MTC at New York City Center – Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

“On Stage” airs Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., and again from 7:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. It also airs Mondays from 9:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., and that same night from 12:30 a.m – 1:00 a.m.

Directed by two-time Tony Award® winner Joe Mantello (Blackbird, Take Me Out), the cast features: Josh Charles (“Sports Night”), Robert Foxworth (Twelve Angry Men), Jayne Houdyshell (Well), and Kendra Kassebaum (Wicked).

At the start of a typical day in the Northeast Office, Beverly deals effortlessly with ringing phones and her colleague's romantic troubles. But the appearance of a charming rep from the Central Office disrupts the friendly routine. And as the true nature of the company's business becomes apparent, THE RECEPTIONIST raises disquieting, provocative questions about the consequences of complicity with evil.

The creative team for THE RECEPTIONIST includes: David Korins (scenic design), Jane Greenwood (costume design), Brian MacDevitt (lighting design), Darron L West (sound design), and David Caparelliotis (casting).
