J.T. Rogers, playwright of Roundabout Theatre Company’s The Overwhelming, will be featured on NY1’s “On Stage” this weekend beginning Saturday, November 17th on channel 1. J.T. sits down with NY1’s Patrick Pacheco to discuss the thought and research that went into his play, set on the eve of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda.

The Overwhelming, directed by Max Stafford-Clark, is playing a limited engagement through December 23rd, 2007 at the Laura Pels Theatre (111 West 46th St).

The Overwhelming is the gripping story of an American family, newly arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, in early 1994, who come face-to-face with the realization that nothing and no one around them is what they understood it to be. Finding themselves embroiled in events beyond their understanding, three Americans struggle to discover who they can trust and what they will do when faced with matters of life and death.
