“BROADWAY BACKSTAGE: FALL PREVIEW”
TO AIR SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27th AT 7:30-8:00 PM

Tune in to see a sneak peak of Broadway’s hottest fall shows and long running favorites including:

A Bronx Tale, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Farnsworth Invention,
Is He Dead?, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Mauritius, Pygmalion,The Ritz, Rock ’n’ Roll, Seafarer
and a special interview with Roundabout Theatre Company’s
Artistic Director Todd Haimes and Executive Director Julia Levy

There's something for everybody on Broadway this fall, from highly anticipated new musicals to starry revivals, compelling dramas to light hearted comedies. Tune in to WABC-7 as they take you behind the scenes and talk to the stars.

WABC-7’s “Broadway Backstage: Fall Preview” will include special interview footage with the stars and creators of the following shows:

· Academy Award® nominee Chazz Palminteri, who made his Broadway debut last night in A BRONX TALE, visits his old Belmont neighborhood on the broadcast.

· Actor and comedian Bob Saget, who made his Broadway debut as “Man in Chair” in the Tony Award® winning musical THE DROWSY CHAPERONE this week, discusses his return to the New York Stage following an acclaimed Off-Broadway debut in Paul Weitz’ play Privilege in 2005.

· Hank Azaria discusses Aaron Sorkin's new play about the advent of television, THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION.

· Tony Award® winner Norbert Leo Butz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) demonstrates how he prepares for rehearsals for IS HE DEAD?, the new comedy by Mark Twain, adapted by David Ives, and directed by two-time Tony Award® winner Michael Blakemore

Marking their 10th Anniversary, DISNEY’S THE LION KING will also be highlighted.

DISNEY’S THE LITTLE MERMAID star Sierra Boggess rehearses ‘Part of Your World’ with composer Alan Menken and director Francesca Zambello, and discusses the new musical beginning performances on November 3rd.

MAURITIUS’ Bobby Cannavale speaks about his lauded Broadway debut.

Claire Danes, Jefferson Mays, Boyd Gaines and Jay O. Sanders stars of Roundabout Theatre Company’s PYGMALION discuss this exciting revival of George Bernard Shaw’s classic play, directed by David Grindley at the American Airlines Theatre.

Rosie Perez and Kevin Chamberlin, stars of Roundabout Theatre Company’s THE RITZ discuss the hysterical Broadway farce by Terrence McNally, currently playing at Studio 54.

ROCK ’n’ ROLL stars Brian Cox and Nicole Ansari, married in real life, talk about working opposite each other in Tom Stoppard’s critically acclaimed play. Cox and Ansari appeared in the original Royal Court and West End productions.

THE SEAFARER’s Ciarán Hinds (HBO's "Rome," Closer) and David Morse ("St. Elsewhere," "House M.D.") speak about returning to the New York stage in Conor McPherson’s new work.

Roundabout Theatre Company’s Artistic Director Todd Haimes and Executive Director Julia Levy give a glimpse into Roundabout’s myriad of audience development programs and community outreach. Todd and Julia discuss Roundabout’s new ACCESS Roundabout discount ticket program, their extended Education activity in New York schools and the extra audience programs in place to enhance a night at the theatre. Tune in as WABC joins a wine-tasting social event for Roundabout subscribers and watch students at the Bronx High School, one of Roundabout's partner schools, as they receive hands on experience in the theatrical arts.
