Jesse Eisenberg, now starring in Atlantic Theater Company’s world premiere production of Lucy Thurber’s play SCARCITY, will sit down with WNBC film critic Jeffrey Lyons on his weekly show “Reel Talk” this Saturday, September 22nd. Eisenberg will discuss both his return to the New York stage and his co-starring role opposite Richard Gere in the new feature film The Hunting Party.

“REEL TALK” airs every Saturday from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. on WNBC, Channel 4 in the New York Metropolitan area.

Eisenberg recently appeared on stage opposite Al Pacino in Lyle Kessler’s play Orphans in Los Angeles. He earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his role opposite Laura Linney and Jeff Daniels in the acclaimed independent feature The Squid and the Whale and stars opposite Richard Gere and Terrence Howard in the feature film The Hunting Party.

JERSEY BOYS is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi, about a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks who became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty.

JERSEY BOYS opened to critical acclaim at the August Wilson Theatre on November 6, 2005. The National Tour of JERSEY BOYS opened to rave reviews at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco, where it continues to play through September 30. CURTAINS unfolds backstage at Boston’s Colonial Theatre in 1959, where a new musical could be a Broadway smash, were it not for the presence of its talent-free leading lady. When the hapless star dies on opening night, Lieutenant Frank Cioffi (David Hyde Pierce) arrives to conduct an investigation. But the lure of the theatre proves irresistible and after an unexpected romance blooms for the stage-struck detective, he finds himself just as drawn toward making the show a hit, as he is in solving the murder.

David Hyde Pierce won the 2007 Tony Award® for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in CURTAINS. George Bernard Shaw’s famous play, Pygmalion, inspired the legendary and award winning musical My Fair Lady, written and composed by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe. Based on the classical myth, Pygmalion plays on the complex business of human relationships in a social world. When Professor Henry Higgins (Mays) comes across a poor and uneducated Cockney girl named Eliza Doolittle (Danes), Higgins makes a bet that he can take Eliza from the gutters of London and pass her off as a society lady, by simply teaching her the right dialect in which to speak. Higgins soon discovers that this task involves much more than knowledge; it involves patience and most importantly, affairs of the heart.

TOMORROW, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th

Jesse Eisenberg, now starring in Atlantic Theater Company’s world premiere production of Lucy Thurber’s play Scarcity, will sit down live with CW 11 Morning News anchor Emily Frances tomorrow morning Thursday, September 6th in the 8:00 a.m. half hour. Eisenberg will discuss both his return to the New York stage and his co-starring role opposite Richard Gere in the feature film The Hunting Party, which opens nationwide on Friday.

“CW 11 Morning News” airs daily from 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. on WPIX Television, Channel 11 in the New York Metropolitan area and New Jersey.

Jesse Eisenberg recently appeared on stage opposite Al Pacino in Lyle Kessler’s play Orphans in Los Angeles. He earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his role opposite Laura Linney and Jeff Daniels in the acclaimed independent feature The Squid and the Whale and stars opposite Richard Gere and Terrence Howard in the feature film The Hunting Party.

Atlantic Theater Company’s world premiere production of Lucy Thurber’s play SCARCITY, directed by Jackson Gay (The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow) began previews August 29th and officially opens Thursday, September 20th. When sixteen-year-old Billy is afforded an opportunity to change schools and move out of town by an unusually attentive young teacher, his family starts to unravel around him. In this raw, emotionally rich world premiere new drama from playwright Lucy Thurber explores the stark reality of how class in America shapes our very image of ourselves.
